a NONVIOLENT
COMMUNICATION
WORKSHOP
How many times have you heard yourself say, “I should do this” or “I shouldn't do that?” How does it feel to do something because you genuinely want to, instead of doing it because you think you have to or should? Doing things out of fear, guilt, shame, duty, or obligation can build resentment and make the people, jobs, projects, and obligations in our lives feel like burdens. When it comes to choices and personal relationships, we feel most empowered and liberated when we know we have the freedom to make our own choices and maintain our own sense of autonomy.
Join us for this special Passover-themed workshop with community member Rachel Bennish, who will draw from the teachings of nonviolent communication as taught by Marshall Rosenberg.
Rachel is a comedian, actress, and writer based in Silver Lake, with a strong personal interest in conflict resolution and mediation. She has been leading compassionate communication courses, workshops, readings, and practice groups in the Long Beach area, where she cofounded a local nonviolent communication chapter, and in the NuRoots community, in L.A., since 2015.
She is dedicated to living, learning, and teaching nonviolent communication, and believes peace is a ripple effect that begins with ourselves. Rachel is excited to share and teach this method as a way to inspire connection and compassion with the greater community.
